I looked closely and noticed a couple little cracks in the cymbal. Although I love the sound of the A Custom and have been loyal to Zildjian over the years, I felt it was now time to try something different in order to give my drums, lets say…a new “edge”. The crash I’d be replacing would be what I’d consider my ‘main’ crash- primarily used for big downbeat accents. I wanted something that had fullness, power, character and beauty. So I ventured out in a mask and coated in hand sanitizer to test out some cymbals…
